Dr. Anya Kalu, a gifted Ophthalmologist whose name literally means 'eyes' is curing blindness in south east Nigeria one eye at a time! His ability to work with the resources he has, overcoming the challenges of doing a very specialized work in a not so advanced part of the world is astonishing. We at MaduCare are very passionate about joining the battle to end preventable blindness. The socioeconomic hardship brought on by blindness continues to be a public health crisis in many regions. Our Director, Peter Maduka scrubbed in with Dr. Kalu, observing him as he performed over 15 combined surgeries. We look forward to more collaborations in the near future.
